Meeting the ANSI Essential Requirements for Due Process
How the Kavi Workspace cloud-based environment helps ensure compliance with the ANSI Essential Requirements
Q:
Does Kavi Workspace support the ANSI Essential Requirements?
A:
Yes. Kavi is committed to the success of our ANSI customers, and we support the Essential Requirements published by ANSI each year. The consensus features in Kavi Workspace provide configurable support for functions key to accreditation, including balloting, comment resolution, and audit support. For more details, check out the ANSI Essential Requirements: Workspace Matrix.
Q:
How can Kavi Workspace keep me organized and prepared for an audit?
A:
One of the most time-consuming activities for an organization is going through an audit by an oversight group such as ANSI, in which users must demonstrate traceability, openness, transparency, balance, and absence of dominance. Kavi Workspace includes an Audit Report feature that automatically logs all activities and can be made directly accessible to the ANSI auditor. For more information on our audit feature, please see the Kavi Workspace Datasheet.
Q:
How does Kavi Workspace address the need for openness in the standards process?
A:
Kavi Workspace includes several features that specifically address the need for openness. Our Groups area includes settings for sharing documents among two or more groups. Our Document Management feature allows you to set viewing privileges as openly or as restricted as your policy requires, which determines who can view and/or edit documents. The Comment Tracker feature enables members and/or the public to submit comments and, as permitted by your policy, read comments submitted by others. Also, public sharing and participation is facilitated through public-facing pages within Workspace that do not require a login. Your administrator has the authority to make any document or group accessible to these pages and can enable features like commenting as desired.
Q:
How does Kavi Workspace help demonstrate lack of dominance in my standards process?
A:
Two features in particular within Kavi Workspace address the requirement for lack of dominance. Groups includes sharing controls, roster functions, and can make intererst categories visible to help your Committee Chair guard against possible dominance conditions. Also, our Ballot feature can be configured to allow only one vote per company, control proxy voting, enforce quorum and minimum passing percentage, plus other options that help reduce the risk of dominance in the development of your standard.
Q:
How does Kavi Workspace address the need for balance in the standards process?
A:
Groups within Kavi Workspace make Interest Categories visible to help the Committee Chair ensure balance in the development of the standard. Also, Ballots enforce voting rules and include a summary of votes cast by Interest Category in order to demonstrate balance in the decision-making process.
