Kavi and the WiMax Forum

Organization Profile

Established in 2001, WiMAX Forum® is a non-profit industry body that certifies and promotes the compatibility and interoperability of broadband wireless products based on the IEEE802.16/ETSI HiperMAN standard.

WiMAX Forum’s chief aim is to accelerate the introduction of these systems to the market, making WiMAX the broadband wireless Internet technology of choice anytime, anywhere. WiMAX Forum has more than 530 member companies who also work to ensure that WiMAX Forum Certified systems meet customer and government requirements.

Upon recommendation from a WiMAX Forum member using Kavi tools elsewhere, WiMAX began investigating the Kavi application suite. The robust commenting and balloting features were a big plus for WiMAX administrators, who were motivated by automated membership sign-ups as well. Having one centralized database, with easy access to detailed records and reports, was also appealing. Deciding to make the jump, they implemented Kavi applications in 2004.

Kavi tools enabled WiMAX Forum to leap ahead of the competition by saving time and accelerating standards development. At a point when speed to market was crucial, Kavi provided the strong foundation necessary for the WiMAX Forum to get the job done.
